At KeHE, our employees are owners. The company maintains an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) so that employees share in the company’s growth and have additional income for retirement. Learn more about KeHE’s ESOP with the resources found on this page.
ESOP statements are mailed to account holders once a year, usually in November. We’re currently transitioning our ESOP to a new account administration partner, Principal. Access to your new account portal and Principal's live call center will be up and running soon. As soon as it’s ready, we’ll update this page with the new website and call center information. In the meantime, please direct any questions to BenefitsHelp@kehe.com.

When will I be eligible to withdraw? If you terminate employment with the Company because of your total disability or retirement, you may request a distribution during the Annual Distribution Window (normally November to December) during the first plan year following the end of the plan year in which you terminate employment with the Company, or during any subsequent plan year. If you terminate employment with the Company for any other reason, you may request a distribution during the Annual Distribution Window (normally November to December) during the sixth plan year following the end of the plan year you terminated employment with the Company, or during any subsequent plan year.
Can I take a lump sum withdraw? If your balance exceeds $5,000 your vested benefits will be paid in installment payments over a period of five years—unless you elect a longer period of distribution.
Can I elect to withdraw at any time? The plan has a specified Annual Distribution Window each fall. This begins when statements are released and is approximately 6-8 weeks long. Your statement includes the Annual Distribution Window dates.
How is my Distribution Taxed? All distributions from the Plan are taxable income unless you elect to roll over the distribution. A 1099 form will be provided to you.
I misplaced my 1099, how can I get another copy? TI-Trust Bank sends the 1099 forms. Please call them at 217-228-8060 for 1099 copies.
